First visit
Yesterday was my first visit to Dr. Mandal. She was very attentive and completely professional. Great overall experience! Dr. Mandal
I really appreciated Dr. Mandal and her assistant coming in on a Saturday to serve patients. Also, her assistant was very patient when I had misunderstood an appointment time and the doctor agreed to see me on a Saturday since I wouldn't be able to make it the following week. I think Dr. Mandal had good communication skills with me as her patient and I felt comfortable discussing personal issues. I thought it was interesting that she didn't ask anything about my marital status or ask if I wanted an HIV test or about domestic violence issues, but that may be because sexual and reproductive health is my background and I am interested to learn about the kinds of conditions that doctors screen for. My visit to Dr. Mandal is always a pleasure as she is punctual, patient and very informative when asked questions. Dr. Mandal takes her time with each visit, I never feel rushed. She's great

1. Easy to get an appointment and not really any wait time. I was the only person during my time of visit which was a nice feeling (unlike my visits in california where there are tons of people in the waiting room) 2. Receptionist very knowledgeable about healthcare and very helpful as well. Rare to have someone who can explain policies! 3. Doctor was nice. I felt like she got a bit defensive at times when I asked some questions about the (Which I think she misunderstood because i was only curious!). I liked that she walked me through the differences in malaria polls and gave some other travel advice. Caring, compassionate and thorough
I haven't had a family doctor since moving from California 3 years ago so I was nervous about choosing one at random. However, the visit was great. Her office feels like a 1920's cottage and her assistant was very friendly. Dr. Mandal herself was very compassionate, attentive and nice. She gave me her full attention and was very thorough. She also left time at the end for questions about anything else I might need. Overall, I felt like she really cared and took the time to do the right thing. Soma Mandal Success!
Soma is extremely helpful, knowledgeable, and respectful. Her office was convenient to get to, her assistant is extremely friendly and welcoming, and i felt right at home from the start. I would happily recommend her to future patients. Excellent!
My experience was certainly positive! They have an efficient system of online booking of appointments which is very easy and convenient to use, and they also send you a reminder email before your appointment. This is a real blessing in NYC! I would happily recommend Dr Mandal to my friends and family -- she is an excellent doctor, is very reassuring and gives you her time and personal attention during the consultation.
